  1. Good evening...I finished your Panda..
    I hope you like her...
    Happy Easter!

  2. I love the Panda painting. My dog is named Panda. Some day we are retiring to Missouri (it's still about 10-15 years away) and I plan to enjoy being able to go to some arts events. It sounds like so much fun and inspiration.

  3. beautiful paintings So colorful and inspiring.

  4. I love this site- I found you via We WE BLOG ARTISTS. I love that you have dedicated your site to all artists. I had to look twice, as your photos of the Water Street Gallery look just like a place nearby that exhibits artists work-and it happens to be on Water Street- only this is Maine. Wonderful site and I will be back.

Labor of Love

Sunflowers in Cobalt Blue Vase,   Oil on 5 "x7"   Linen Panel SOLD  Private Collection in San Saba, TX First, I must say that everything I paint is because I absolutely love. I don't like to paint things that I don't find to be attractive to me for one reason or another. Sometimes it's sentimental reasons and other times it's as simple as beautiful colors or the texture. I want to study it and how it affects the environment around it, as in the case of Sunflowers in Cobalt Blue Vase does. In that respect, I feel ALL my paintings are a labor of love.  More often than not, I have to create a painting, wipe it all down, and start all over again if something is just not working. Some never get completed and I just end up painting something totally different on that panel. Then there are some, that I just have to paint, no matter how much trouble they are giving

Thank you for the happy e-mails, the wonderful advice and sharing of resources, and your kindness and support all around. I've found that simplifying my life can be complicated and messy at first, but I am getting into the swing of things and finding my way around raising chickens, keeping bees, organic gardening and teaching art. During winter break, I started my coop plans--all the things coops had to have and the best way to build it so that that it would not be something my neighbors would mind seeing as they step outside their houses. I must add that I have the BEST neighbors in the world. I bought chickens in March and by April, they were ready to be outside of the broode
