Sierra Meadow, Oil painting by Rick McClure
The Oklahoma Art Guild is offering a Plein Air Landscape workshop with Rick McClure. If you want to learn to capture the essence and life of a landscape, then join them as they explore 4 different Oklahoma views during the course of a year. This workshop is for the beginner as well as seasoned plein air artist. At each location, Rick will present a 45 minute demonstration and then provide guidance to the students in plein air techniques.
Their first location is Will Rogers Nature Center where students will have the opportunity to paint these historic gardens located in the heart of Oklahoma City. While at the Gardens, visitors can wander along winding paths where botanical delights await at every turn. Inside the garden walls, visitors are surrounded by thousands of roses, irises, azaleas, daylilies and peonies, among other colorful flowers and plants. The rose garden is surrounded by two lakes sits on 10 acres of pristine park land and features hundreds of varieties of trees, including Oklahoma native species as well as specimens rarely found in the state.
