I don’t know if I have already told you, but I have been very fortunate to have wonderful mentors in my life. Early on, there was Joyce Jackson (I showed you the book that she illustrated). In high school I had the wonderful luck of meeting Judy McGee. Yes, they are both great artists, but aside from that they are true teachers. I think that is a talent that not many have. Some make wonderful artists but can’t teach, or the opposite. They taught me and inspired me and continue to do so. Aside from teachers in my life, there are women artists who inspire me throughout time whom I’ve never met. Sometimes it is their skill, their dedication, their choice of color, or their entire artwork. Other times, it is the words they spoke, the strength with which they faced their struggles, or the way they shared their lives with us through their art. Well, Frida Kahlo is a little of all that. When I saw this, I thought that I wanted to share it with you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ou0EOcpdJm4
