Movie Inspiration: You've Got Mail

Ruby Red Heels,   Oil on 4 "x6"   Linen Panel SOLD        Nothing says autumn like "You've Got Mail." Like other pretty movies, I could watch it over and over again and NEVER tire. While I watch it, I dream of owning a shop (gallery) just like the one her tiny little book shop sits in. What a dream! Well, throughout the movie, there are references made to other movies, "Wizard of Oz" is one of those. The painting above is a tribute to that. The models were actually tiny, glittery Christmas ornaments.          It's gotten to the point that I put the movie dubbed in Italian with Italian subtitles to practice the language, since I have it memorized in English.           I apologize for the bottom two photos; my camera has given up on me. Drats! I hope to have better photos soon and when I do, they will be posts on eBay for auction. Christmas Berries and Lace,   Oil on 5 "x7" ...

Movie Inspiration: "Cheerful Weather for the Wedding"

Carnations in Mint Julep Cup,   Oil on 5 "x7"   Linen Panel Inspired by Cheerful Weather for the Wedding SOLD There are some movies that I could watch a million times and never tire of them. One of those is "Cheerful Weather for the Wedding," which I absolutely LOVE.  The attraction began with the delightful title, followed by the detail tour of a house filled with the most perfect blues with touches of pinks and creams throughout.  The colors of the clothing are also seductive and make me wish I had time to sew.  Instead of sewing, I decided to get those colors on canvas. Inspiration taken from the Work of Berthe Morisot

Quince Fruit and Pink Rose,   Oil on 5 "x7"   Linen Panel Inspired by the work of Berthe Morisot Click here to bid One of my favorite things in the world to do for fun is watch people create art--all sorts of art. Even better than that, is to learn about artists that have paved the way for the rest of us. Usually when the family questions me about what I want nothing comes to mind. This time I am prepared. So far, my Christmas list goes like this as e-mailed to my hubby: Berthe Morisot Movie, by Caroline Champetier  (I don't know how he's going to get this one.I wish him luck.) Renoir Summer in February  (the book, but the movie would be fabulous) and a REAL pochade box-the large one by Guerrilla with a tripod (I've been working from a cigar box that's too small and I have to lean down too much.) Oh, it's going to be a wonderful Christmas. Still Life with Peach, Vase and Woodblock Painting Book Revisited ,    Oil on 4 "x6"   Line...
